Anuli Isichei is a registered nurse currently working in Nigeria, where she is a program manager for the Healthcare Leadership Academy. Isichei designs curriculum, serves as a faculty mentor, and is responsible for developing strategic partnerships including working closely with the nursing and midwifery council of Nigeria to build the capacity of healthcare stewards across Sub-Saharan Africa. Isichei’s work has deeply impacted nursing and midwifery by empowering nurses to advocate for policies in their sphere of influence and to sit at the decision-making table.

Anuli Isichei is a registered nurse with more than 10 years of progressive nursing experience. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society and the youngest recipient of the prestigious Long Island Nurse of Excellence Award. Isichei began her career in nursing as a bedside nurse, working numerous world-renowned hospitals in the US, including Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. Isichei co-founded a global health initiative whose mission is to curb the type 2 diabetes epidemic in youth, through which she sponsored medical mission trips to Nigeria, produced an informational talk show, worked with local politicians to generate political buy-in, and created several public service announcements. Isichei holds a Master of Public Administration, with a concentration in health policy, from Columbia University, where she was a Dean’s Service Scholar. She currently works in Nigeria, where she is a program manager for the Healthcare Leadership Academy which is a social enterprise that builds the capacity of healthcare stewards across Sub-Saharan Africa.
