Her tenure in the field of nursing education has brought real change to the Mexican healthcare system and improved the lives of many patients.

Dr. Juana Jimenez Sanchez is a nurse and General Coordinator of the Permanent Commission on Nursing for the Ministry of Health in Mexico. She is recognized as an Honorary Member of the ‘Grupo nacional para el estudio y asesoramiento en Úlceras por Presión y Heridas Crónicas’ and the Iberolatinoamericana Society of Ulcers and Wounds. Dr. Jimenez Sanchez, who has worked with the Mexican Ministry of Health for more than fifteen years, was appointed as the first Director of Nursing for the Mexican Health System. This appointment has allowed her to improve the state of nursing throughout the country.

Dr. Jimenez Sanchez distinguishes herself by her professional quality and outstanding character. She is an example to follow for her leadership and management capacity. In the last twenty years, she has contributed to the transformation of nursing in Mexico. She is a national advisor of projects which further the field of nursing and is part of Thinking of Mexico, a civil society organization whose purpose is to express opinions and issue recommendations on the problems that afflict Mexico.
