Marina Baig is a Senior Instructor at the Aga Khan University (AKU) School of Nursing and Midwifery. Having completed her education at institutions in Pakistan and the UK, she is now a leading figure in research and education within AKU. Among her wider work, she has been instrumental in leveraging new technologies to advance both education and care. Ms. Baig is the Principal Investigator for a study piloting mHealth technology in improving antenatal care coordination among health workers and community midwives in Tando Allah Yar, Pakistan. Her work on the use of mobile Health (mHealth) technology to improve antenatal care coverage and skilled delivery in rural settings is exemplary and could serve as an innovative strategy in improving maternal health outcomes. In addition, her contributions in developing an interactive e-book on women-centered reproductive health care, focused on family planning and post-abortion care, has been recognised as another key development in midwifery education in Pakistan. Ms. Baig has received numerous awards and scholarships, and regularly shares her expertise through publications and presentations at external conferences.
